In December, I went to a park in Monterey. I gave oral hygiene instruction and toothbrush packs to people in need. Then I went to the Moose Lodge where 75 woman are fed breakfast every Tuesday. These woman live out of there cars. A wonderful Non-profit called, “The Gathering Place”, provides this service. I was able to give a talk at the beginning of the breakfast and then talk to the ladies individually. I gave away around 40 toothbrush packs. I have found that one of the biggest services needed is extractions from abscesses. I will be talking to Dentists to see about possible services in the Monterey County. It is life threatening and painful when a tooth is infected. One person can only afford to get antibiotics every week but not enough money to take care of the tooth. I will work on a service portion of the website.
I wanted to do something different for the Christmas month so I gave to people in need. I will continue to focus on the kids and the aging population with dry mouth.
