The Chamberlain House: Homes, Healing, and Hope

God blessed me last month and I was able to go to the Chamberlain House and teach the kids how to brush teeth. “Chamberlain’s Children Center empowers at-risk children in a home-like environment to heal from past trauma, discover their strengths, and develop the skills they need to achieve life-long success-“www.chamberlaincc.org.” It’s more than an orphanage, it’s helping kids have good skills to be successful in life. All the kids there seemed well cared for. Besides the shadows of life behind there eyes, I could tell they were healthy, and well cared for at the Chamberlain House. Everyone was really nice and the facilities were exceptionally clean. It was a really impressive facility.

God blessed me to raise enough money to get all the kids over 10 electric toothbrushes.Thank you to everyone who donated to make this possible. 19 kids received an electric toothbrush, a backpack, a bag of flossers, mouth rinse, and a big toothpaste. All the kids under 10 received a battery toothbrush with other goodies. I was able to disclose the kids and show them the plaque on there teeth. We were able to get all the plaque off, inspire them, and educate them about the importance of good oral hygiene. The staff reported back and said it was a success. The kids are wanting to brush there teeth when they are asked. I realized that the electrical toothbrushes made a big difference. It was much easier to inspire and teach the kids how to brush, especially when a parent is not telling them to go back and do a better job. The kids ages ranged from 6-17. We helped 24 kids that day.
